Traveling again
The Spirit of the Trees
I was praying and had another vision I wish to share with you. I became one with the trees in the forest. The spirit of the trees, bushes and plants was in me and I knew things from their eyes. It was a peaceful feeling. But it was also very exciting. As a tree, I could feel the energy from the Mother Earth entering my roots and flowing through me to the very tips of my branches and leaves. It poured into the birds that nested in me, and the squirrels that climbed my branches. Their messages, along with the energy of the Earth, flowed through me to the sky and to the Great Spirit.
I stood like this for a long time. During that time, I was reminded of the power of the Trees. Trees are the life-lines between the Earth and the Sky. Trees anchor all who live on them and under them to the Great Spirit. Even as a tree, I was aware of my being. I was aware of my life. I envisioned myself growing strong and tall. I felt my trunk to be firm and hard. I felt my connection to both the Earth and the Sky and how I was a link between them.
An Eagle landed in my branches. I said to him, “Brother Eagle, you bring the words of mere man to the ears of the Great Spirit. You bring back the words of the Great Spirit to those who have ears to hear it. What do you have to tell me this day.”
Brother Eagle replied, “What can a tree tell the people of the world? They do not listen to you. They do not hear your words. They do not know you have a voice.”
I told the Eagle that some did know. He said, “Me and my brothers have talked to the trees for time unending, bringing the words of the Great Spirit. Has anyone listened yet? Has anyone asked the trees to speak?” With those words he flew away.
Then an owl landed in my branches. I said, “Sister Owl, you bring the mysteries of the night to the people of the world. Your eyes are keen and can see through the darkness. Tell me, please, what do you see through the darkness around you?”
Sister Owl said, “Even in the dark the Great Spirit is watching and cares for his children. He sends them messages so they may learn and grow in happiness and prosperity. I bring those messages to the trees, they bring them to those who live below them. Has anyone listened yet?”
The Owl flew away. My spirit changed form and I was no longer a tree. I was once again myself. I looked up. I was sitting under a tree. “Brother Tree,” I said. “Teach me. I want to listen to your words.”
The tree branches above my head waved in the breeze, and a nut from the tree fell. It landed close to me. I picked up the nut and thanked the tree. Then I had another vision.
I saw a land of great tree people. They looked like trees but walked and talked and had families. I was a coyote, running between them. One tree bent over and picked me up. He stroked my animal ears back and said, “We, the trees, are like the stitching in fabric, we hold the parts that clothe the Earth together. If you take too many of us away, the fabric will unravel and become undone.”
He shook my body and I became a slug. He put me on his bark and I moved slow and steady. I was happy to be a slug on this great Tree Spirit.
“Each tree holds a message. To hear that message, stand among us, and open your heart. We are waiting to tell you.”
My vision ended.
When I awoke, I thought to myself, “I know the message of the trees. Why would I have such a vision.” Then I walked outside and sat under the trees by my house. I could feel their spirit around me. It filled me and I understood something I had not before. There are countless messages in the trees. No man can know them all. We always have room for learning from them.
I longed to be that slowly slug again. To climb on the tree’s bark, slow and steady and have no worries.

Keep Your Dreams Alive Finding your way in this world can be an uphill battle. Some seem to get what they want or need almost effortlessly, while others seem to fight a constant battle, with unimaginable obstacles. If you have a dream and have to struggle to make it come true, at which point do you give up? "Give up? Is that even in your vocabulary?" When you have a dream, which is what America...

The cradle of your love of life … is death.” To look back on one’s time on Earth and realize how much of it was spent not really being alive, not loving, not noticing, not being present with what is, is to realize that your one glorious ride was largely spent without reflection, depth or meaning. It was squandered. And there’s no undoing that fact. Again, that moment of realization is a bad mom...

The visit to the Dead A woman died. Her husband went to where she was buried. At night he slept there. The next night he went and slept there. The next night he slept there again. Then in the middle of the night his wife came out of the grave. She stood tip and brushed the earth from herself. She faced north, not looking at him, and brushed herself entirely clean. She brushed her hair clean. Th...

Septembers's great path of the moon is awareness. Lie down in a secret place with your head pointed toward the east and stay there until you learn something. Then move slowly to the south, facedown. Notice what is in font of your nose: leaves, pine needles, dirt, insects, pebbles. When you turn to the west, dig into the earth with your fingers. Smell the richness of history. Imagine what this s...

Wolf's Eyelash - Where is the soul? If you don't go out in the woods, nothing will ever happen and your life will never begin. "Don't go out in the woods, don't go out," they said "Why not? Why should I not go out in the woods tonight?" she asked. "A big wolf lives there who eats humans such as you. Don't go out in the woods, don't go out. We mean it." Naturally, she went out. Hummingbird Lightening strikes to the heavens and the thunder beings hit the great drums in the sky world. I watch as the rain washes down the roof near my window, flowing like a fire hydrant onto the stones. My mind travels thousands of miles away this morning, to my home in the high dry desert. I fly over my family lodge and see it as when I was a much younger person. Creator gave our minds a...

No one can remember any more exactly how it came about that the black bear Wakini overpowered the strong grey grizzly Wakinu. The black bears say that Wakini was just feeding on the contents of an ant hill when Wakinu came up to him and quite rudely stuck his paw in as well. A great fight ensued, with grey and black hairs flying on every side. Wakini was, of course, in the right, for no animal ...

Everything in the universe is part of The Great Spirit, from a rock, to a plant, to a fish, to a human. The spirit flows between and within us all, and is the building block of everything. Since we are all part of the same whole, we should treat the rest of the whole as if it is part of us, i.e. with compassion and love. We are all part of the Great Spirit, just like all the different leaves on...

Grandfather said that there was not future, only possible futures. The ‘now’ was like the palm of a hand, with each finger being the possible future, and, as always, one of the futures was always the most powerful, the way that the main course of events would surely take us. Thus his predictions were of the possible future, which meant that he always left a choice. “If a man could make the righ...

The Truth We Seek Truth is often defined not by ourselves, but by others. It takes a real determination to begin the search for truth. And… it is a very difficult search I assure you. How far are you willing to reach deep inside yourself? Are you...

Spirit is not concentrated in a single monotheistic Supreme Being. Native wisdom tends to assign human beings enormous responsibility for sustaining harmonious relations within the whole natural world rather than granting them unbridled license to follow personal or economic whim. It regards the human obligation to maintain the balance and health of the natural world as a solemn spiritual duty ...

The Native Americans were intelligent in their comprehension of English. Speaking honestly, not in political correct grammar. Writing plural and writing singular together is as in Spanish and in American English to Spanish. La gente, el gente. La Nina, El Nino, La Nino, El Nina, the Storm Network we are leaving, the Network of Storms we know, and, the Storm Network we are going towards this year, 2024. But not necessarily in that order. (Ns are ennies, but without one line above).

Poem of a War Cry that has One voice, As titled, in The Wind, the War Cry still and moving with the Wind, curtles the mind of the Enemy, Present, Past, Future, Without the time Of the Warrior's war, Today, In the descendents, Still, And moving, . . The Enemy away, From the War, From the Cry of the Descendent, Because of The Ancestor, Who cried a cry of Necessity against, An Enemy against, Their lives, The Hearts of The Warrior, War Cry, Today Yelled, Screamed, Purposefully or not, Evokes a run, For those who fight battles, toward, for those who retreat, Away Either, Always Unison As then Is now. To me, To you? . . . . . . . . .

Not exactly true. I heard the wind sound. The velocity or breeze have to be heard in a quiet setting. Music is as nature gives, earth nature, mankind nature, God His nature definitely.

Sometimes voices are soft to the ear, especially when we age, and the children, and loved ones speak. When an enemy speaks, not Warrior, she can speak loud. But when she speaks with action, people die or become burned on their face. Threats are unspoken, but the wind sometimes calms by not allowing the death blow. Sometimes fiercely, sometimes by the traveling sound, we make in these actions.

Honestly, I had to drive from LA to West Virginia. I didn't want to do the trip - I knew it would be hard. I didn't want a vision quest! no no no. So day 3 in 104 degree weather from LA to Pueblo, in the worst of it when I couldn't believe my car still was moving - it was 103 in the shade at 6 AM, my great car kept driving and I heard a song, which I just now found, and it transported me into a profound feeling I cannot describe. Like I went through hell and death and this song lead the way. I kept wondering what this song was and took a quick camera video when driving. I just found this. This is the song. Very moving. I felt this so much still do. Blessings to all the peoples. I'm so sorry for what happened, I really am.
